It is hard to believe that we are already entering our fourth year at Rex Fortune Elementary! Looking back at our inaugural year, I am incredibly proud of how our community has come together to build a foundation of excellence, innovation, and kindness.

Having served the Center Joint Unified School District for 26 years—as a classroom teacher, interventionist, academic coordinator, and principal—my commitment to this district remains stronger than ever. It has been a true joy to transition from opening CJUSD’s newest school to watching our very first cohorts of students grow into the leaders they are today. We are no longer just "establishing" traditions; we are living them.

 

At Rex Fortune, our commitment to providing an outstanding education is anchored in our STEAM-focused curriculum. Through Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math, our students continue to engage in hands-on learning that connects classroom concepts to real-world challenges. Whether through our C-STEM robotics programs, our coding initiatives, or our creative arts projects, we strive to ignite a lifelong passion for discovery in every child.

 

We know that our success is built on the partnership between home and school. As we continue to grow, we invite you to remain—or become—deeply involved in our school culture. Our goal is increased communication and awareness, resulting in a smoother system and less stress for all.
